Creator terms

Read before you register

A summary of the terms every creator agrees to when joining the DigiTone Creator Network. The full creator agreement is issued at onboarding.

1. Revenue sharing
  • Creator-sourced deals: where a brand approaches the creator directly and DigiTone provides concept development and production support, the creator retains 80% of the deal value and DigiTone receives 20%.
  • Agency-sourced deals: where DigiTone sources the client, develops the concept and manages the campaign, the creator receives 30% of the deal value and DigiTone retains 70%.
  • The applicable split is confirmed in writing per campaign before work begins.
2. Payments
  • All campaign payments are invoiced and received through DigiTone Agency Ltd.
  • The creator's share is disbursed within an agreed number of days of DigiTone receiving cleared funds from the client.
  • Statutory deductions and taxes are handled as required under Kenyan law; creators are responsible for their own personal tax obligations.
3. Non-circumvention
  • Creators may not approach, negotiate with or accept work directly from any brand or client introduced to them by DigiTone, for the duration of the agreement and an agreed period after it ends.
  • Any repeat business from a DigiTone-introduced brand flows through the agency under the agency-sourced split.
4. Representation & exclusivity
  • Membership in the Creator Network is non-exclusive by default — you keep full ownership of your channels and audience.
  • Exclusive representation (where DigiTone manages all your brand work) is available as a separate, mutually agreed arrangement.
5. Content & usage rights
  • Ownership and usage rights for campaign content are defined per campaign, in line with the client contract.
  • DigiTone may feature completed campaign work in its portfolio and marketing with the creator credited.
6. Professional conduct & termination
  • Creators commit to agreed timelines, deliverables and brand-safety standards on every campaign.
  • Either party may exit the agreement with written notice; obligations on active campaigns and non-circumvention survive termination.
